DOSAB was established in accordance with the instruction of Ministry of Industry and Trade by The Association of Industrialists of Demirtaş, in 1987 and obtained the Organized Industrial Zone status in the same year.

DOSAB is established over a land area of 480 hectares, includes 260 factories and employs over 25.000 workers.

Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone has a total turnover of USD 1.5 billion and its total export volume is approximately USD 650 million.

Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone, as the 5 th largest industrial zone of Turkey, makes a substantial contribution to the economy of Bursa and also contributes greatly to the GNP of Turkey.

The breakdown of industrial activities established within the DOSAB is as follows:
2 electrics and electronics, 1 energy, 6 foodstuffs, 1 construction, 4 rubber, 11 machines and metal, 3 furniture, 30 automotive supplies industry, 5 plastics and chemicals, 49 dyeing, 64 weaving, 33 home textiles, 10 ready to wear clothing and garments, 18 yarns and 11 other sectors. While sector distribution is compromised of textile with 65%, auto subsidiary industry with 14 % and sundries of 21%, the capacity utilization rate is approximately 70 %.

When we consider that DOSAB employs thousands of people, has an export volume exceeding millions of dollars and tax payments of considerable amount, its import position in the Turkish economy may be readily understood.
